Mohali: Amrik Singh, Punjab Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the case of a 30-year-old fake meeting in Mohali on Thursday.
The sentence was spoken by the Special CBI Court of Judge Harinder Sidhu.
The court also slapped the fine of RS 20,000 to the inmate and by default had to undergo a year of expanded prison.
Meanwhile, his accomplice and accused the Inspector Wassan Singh died during the trial and was indicted by a fake meeting case from Sathiala Bas Village in Amritsar Regency.
Advice for victims, Advocates S Verka said that Judge Harinder Kaur Sidhu sentenced Amrik because of the abduction, illegal confinement, and Gurvinder Singh’s murder in a fake meeting.
The defendant, who was guaranteed and attended the court, was detained.
FIR in this case was registered in 1997 after the Guide of the Supreme Court.
The agency submitted a Chargesheet against Wassan Singh and America because of killing Gurvinder Singh, who was a resident of Phenuman Village in the Amritsar district.
Like, a police officer stormed the Gurvinder house and picked up his father Chanan Singh.
Then they chose Gurvinder from his uncle’s house in Jalandhar.
The next day, Gurvinder Singh was shown killed in a meeting with the police.
This case was handed over to the CBI in 2000.
Allegations of kidnapping, illegal confinement and killings were framed against both.
