Jaipur: Special Operations Group (SOG) Police Rajasthan carried out an attack on a villa here and restored the engine and material to print a record of counterfeit currencies, an official said on Wednesday.
SOG caught two accused and recovering a record of fake currencies that have a nominal value of Rs 5,80,900, the official said.
ATS and SOG Ashok Rathore said the team from SOG led by excavation Sharat Kaviraj raided a villa in a housing scheme in the Jaipur Goner area on the night intervention Tuesday and Wednesday about the printing of fake currency records.
The team found Brijesh Maurya and Pratham Sharma cut a fake note from a sheet, said Rathore.
“High-quality fake records in Rs 200 and 500 denominations with a total nominal value of Rs 5,80,900, some printed notes, color printers, scanning machines, paper and other material confiscated from the place,” he said.
“The fake record seized looks exactly like the original and also bears the sign of the RBI watermark and marks the number,” the officer said.
