Fake notes worth RS 7 Crore confiscated, 7 held

Mumbai: Police Mumbai has arrested seven people and took the fake Indian currency record with a nominal value of Rs 7 Crore after destroying the gang between countries involved in the printing and distribution of fake records, an official said on Wednesday.
Acting on certain information, the 12 branch of the Crime Mumbai branch intercepted the car at the Deforable checkpoint on the edge on Tuesday night, the official said.
The police arrested four people sitting in the car and interrogated them, he said.
During the search for cars, the Sleuth branch of the crime found a bag containing 250 bundles of counterfeit currency records (in RS 2,000 denominations) with a nominal value of RS 5 Crore, the official said.
While interrogating four car residents, the police received information about their three helper, he said.
Therefore, the police team attacked in a hotel on the outskirts of Andheri (West) and arrested all three, officials said, adding 100 bundles more fake currencies (again in RS 2,000 denominations) with a nominal value of Rs 2 Crore was recovered from they.
In addition to fake records, the police have restored a laptop, seven cellphones, Rs 28,170 in the original currency, aadhaar and pan cards and driving licenses, among others, from gang members, he said.
During the investigation, there was a gang between countries operating the racket to print a fake currency note and distribute it, said DCP Sangramsingh Nisdar (Detection-1), which oversees the entire operation.
The police have so far restored a record of fake currencies with a nominal value of Rs 7 Crore and arrested seven people in this matter, he said.
The defendant was produced in front of a local court that turned them on in police custody until January 31.
