GUWAHATI: A guy masquerading as a physician was detained from Mokalbari tea property in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district Thursday.
He had been with the registration number of a physician from Karnataka, recognized as Dr Stephen Antony, that has been overseas since 2009.
Tea estate sources said that the bogus physician, Simon Nag, was employed as a health club in Mokalbari because 2018.
The forgery was discovered by Dr.
Abhijit Neog of a Guwahati-based hospital.
It had been Neog, that established contact with all the actual Dr Stephen Antony, the first registration number holder, who’s currently practicing in Singapore.
Antony graduated from St.
John’s Medical College, Bengaluru at 2006 and obtained his enrollment by Medical Council of India in 2007.
“I checked that the specifics of the first registration number holder at Indian Medical Registry in which the permanent address of this physician is Malleswaram at Bengaluru.
I was amazed in the Singapore link using a Dibrugarh tea pot,” explained Neog.
He explained in last a few decades, roughly 12 such cases was discovered in Assam.
About a week before, some of Neog’s juniors had advised him about the questionable nature of the bogus physician, once the administration awakened Covid vigilance from the blossoms.
Plagued from illiteracy, a huge chunk of backyard employees hardly maintained that the Covid protocols.
More than 2,000 positive instances were analyzed in Dibrugarh tea plantations in 2nd tide and 611 active instances were reported at Wednesday.
This isn’t the first time if these instances of fake physicians was brought into the fore but in a time once the next tide of Covid has experienced horrible effects from the tea buckle of upper Assam, detain of their fake physician has brought into light the deeply-rooted lacunas from the health industry.
“Identity convicted of physicians isn’t new in India.
Largely, physicians working in remote areas or overseas are concentrated,” Neog additional.
Medical sources stated the modus operandi would be to differentiate themselves as expert doctors.
“Normally people do not suspect the eligibility of expert doctors,” the source added.
In Assam, there’s a post of health inspector (plantations) to look at the medical infrastructure and work in green gardens.
On the other hand, the arrest of this bogus physician has raised question mark within genuineness of their scrutiny of their wellness professionals offering health care services into the tea garden workers.
“After I receive the police report, an enquiry will be run.
In socio-economic signs and wellness parameters, tea employees are now on a weaker foundation.
This leaves them vulnerable to Covid disease,” explained Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha.
The accused,” Simon Nag, confessed prior to the press he never handed MBBS but’d passed matric examination.
“I prescribed medications just like a physician.
I really don’t understand where’s your confusion.
I’ll produce my first records prior to the court,” Nag said.
It can turn into a protracted struggle in the court but the prosecution will overtake the tea employees in the event the tea ship managements do not take a lesson in the Mokalbari event.
Police sources told TOI that it’s supported with the faculty, in which he analyzed, that Nag didn’t pass on the matric examination.
“He doesn’t have a level to take care of patients at the potential of a MBBS doctor,” a senior police officer said.
Police registered a suo moto situation from the bogus physician but suspect that an engagement of a larger racket.
“Through analysis it was discovered that Nag had flunked his course 10 examination in 2003 in Bindhakota High School, Dibrugarh procuring only 137 marks total.
By 2009 he’s been serving as a physician and had served in a number of major tea estates prior to linking Mokalbari tea property,” police sources said.
“Truly he was also an extremely popular with patients.
However, did he came to learn more about the actual registration amount? Someone might have directed him,” police said.
