Bengaluru: The 34-year-old businessman from Shivamogga was arrested by police Kempegowda Nagar for allegedly extorting a 45-year-old Bangaloru woman who used her changing nude video.
Sandeep, the defendant, came into contact with the woman, Latha (name changed), while she was looking for a recent job.
Sandeep introduced himself as Suneel.
Latha told the police that she was looking for a job and Sandeep gathered the number from a friend, Wisnu Prabhakar, and contacted him.
He promised work if he was obliged to his demands and also visited him in a private place.
“In a week, he made a video call to me and showed me my naked video morphed.
He began to demand money, threatening if he did not upload a video on social media,” Alleged Latha.
Sandeep asked Latha to meet him at Yelachenahalli on August 21 and claimed he was a police officer when he met him.
He took RS 200 cash from his bag and immediately demanded the other 10,000 Rs.
He also warned him not to tell his family or police.
Latha approached the police after she could not bear her abuse.
