NEW DELHI: The drop in count of everyday Covid-19 cases along with the diminishing positivity rate in Delhi could be credited to the execution of lockdown from the federal capital to fight the outbreak, health ministry Satyendar Jain stated on Wednesday. Interacting with colleagues, he also stated about 600 instances of black uterus or mucormycosis are reported till date, together with over 200 being listed exclusively on May 23. “Yesterday, 1,568 instances were listed using a high rate rate of 2.14 percent. The ministry said the amount of beds available will also be in big number today and approximately one third of these ICU beds will also be empty. Asked about reported closing of several mohalla clinics throughout the next wave of the outbreak, he said,”using 10-15 practices, that have been closed briefly because of emergency reasons like responsibility doctors who have infected using Covid, the rest of the centers are functioning. “Many mohalla practices were under construction once the lockdown was enforced so work obtained changed. However, our 450 mohalla practices are operational differently,” he explained. On lack of Covid vaccine, Jain said,”We’re being made to opt for international tenders but firms aren’t giving straight to us. They (Centre) are altering duties”.
