Chennai: The police chief of police died after a tree fell on him while he was on duty outside the secretariat at Chennai on Tuesday morning.
The police chief of police escaped with a minor injury.
The deceased was identified as Kavitha, 42, which was attached to the traffic police at the NutHialpet N-3 police station.
He served near the gate out of the secretariat to regulate traffic.
The large tree was revoked at around 9:15 a.m.
Half a dozen police personnel stood under the tree managed to escape.
The tree fell on Kavitha destroyed it to death.
Cottable Murugan’s head was trapped under the fallen tree branch and suffered minor injuries.
Because of rain, no public society.
On normal days, there will be at least 50 people waiting to submit their petition, a police officer said.
Kavitha survives her husband who is a train employee and three children.
One of his children studied in college while the other two were school students.
