Family amputated to get a bpl card

KOLLAM: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has ordered the Department of Civil Invisors to issue a BPL ration card to the man’s family whose legs are amputated.
The panel of the right ordered the mark of the Supply Officer, Kollam, to issue a card to Tasakhana Amma, from Thazham.
The Taluk Supply Officer has refused to issue a BPL card on the basis that the total area of the house is more than 1000 square feet.
But the complainant said the house and land had been transferred to their son.
However, THRC evaluated that the Prasobhana Amma husband could not work and did not have a livelihood.
Because her husband underwent a dialysis, he could get free care only if he could produce a BPL card, which was recorded by the Commission.
