Vadodara: The household Sameer Qureshi, accused of luring a girl using a fictitious name to conceal his identity and becoming married to her, even rather than traceable following the offence contrary to them was enrolled in the Gotri police station on Friday.
Qureshihis relatives and friends were reserved under the recently amended Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act that deals with forcible or deceptive spiritual conversion by union, also called’adore jihad’ with its own proponents.
According to the authorities, Qureshi’s RT-PCR evaluation for Covid-19 had flipped out damaging and he’d be taken under custody.
A formal added that efforts were being made to find the household, however the priority was collecting evidence.
The offence is first of its type to be filed under provisions of the Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act.
Assistant commissioner of police of their SC/ST mobile D K Rathod explained that the household had abandoned their property.
“We shall now ask for a remand to get Qureshi’s interrogation to collect additional proof,” he explained.
Resources pointed out that given the sensitive nature of this situation, the authorities were treading closely rather than hurrying with arrests.
Qureshi had established a bogus identity on a societal networking platform utilizing the title Sam Martin.
He met with the girl in 2019 and got married for this season.
The female’s name and faith were supposedly altered in the time of this union.
The girl has alleged before her marriage she had been taken to various places and mistreated by Sameer.
He supposedly clicked objectionable images of this girl also.
She claimed that Sameer compelled her to get abortions on three events before their marriage.
Sameer’s dad Abdul, mommy Farida and sister Rukhsar are accused of bothering the girl after marriage and utilizing casteist slur.
Others such as a cousin of Sameer along with among his buddies are named as accused in this event.
