Look at the silicone chip where the actor’s name will be engraved (NASA’s source):
What is silicone chip? How does it work?
Engineers dictate names to silicon wafers or microchips.
They use the “e-beam” machine electron beam in JPL which specializes in hatching very small features (less than 1 microns, or less than human hair width!).
They usually use this machine to make high-precision microdications in the JPL microdication laboratory.
Speaking of tribute, the founder of the Rajita Fanclub told Ethimes, “We were very fortunate to have a team member who did the project related to NASA and when Lee Min Ho recently talked about Mars, we just wanted to do this for him.
He made us happy at all times , so I think it’s the best way to pay it.
Even though it’s very small! “
