Aurangabad: While Apple’s growth is traditionally considered identical to Kashmir, an innovative farmer from Osmanabad Marathwada Regency has succeeded in changing ideas.
In the agricultural revolution, Nitin Sawant, a farmer from Jagaji Osmanabad Village, has managed to process apples in the area known for dry and hot weather.
Sawant, who has arranged the cold apple varieties of Vietnam, has cultivated 210 apple trees that have begun to produce fruit.
“Apple varieties only need around 50 hours of cold.
Fruits have the same characteristics as apples cultivated in Kashmir or other parts in North India,” Sawant said.
This sweet success came to Sawant after a lot of patience and hard work about three years.
“I began experimenting with Apple’s growth around 2018.
To get started, I did plantations in the agricultural land of one hectare.
Anus, as long as their growth, requires certain care, including spraying pesticides and onacticides that are on time.
The trees planted gradually grow up The height of eight feet and produces fruits with the right size, “Sawant said holding a degree in teacher education.
With many apples that came out, Sawant sent fruits that were harvested to the local market that took prices in the range of Rs 150 to Rs 200 per kilogram.
Osmanabad district, which received an average annual rainfall of only 603 mm, is known as relatively hot weather and drought-prone conditions.
District Superintending Agriculture Officer for Osmanabad Umesh Ghatge on Sunday said that Apple’s cultivation in Jagaji Village was a new experiment in Marathwada.
“All the details of agricultural experiments will be submitted to zonal research extensions and advisors of the Vasantrao Committee on the Parbhani of the Marathwada Agricultural University,” he said.
