Farmers’ protests: Not afraid to retreat, Malik said

Jaipur: Governor Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik on Sunday attacked the center of the farmer’s problem and said he was not afraid to fall from his position if asked.
He made a comment while handling ‘Global KTT JAT’ here.
Referring to a recent statement about the agricultural law, Malik said he was made a governor by several people in Delhi and was fully aware that he spoke against their will on agricultural problems.
“On the day they told me that they had a problem (with my statement), I wouldn’t even wait for a while to resign.
On the first day, I spoke for the farmers and was ready to go and join the agricultural protest,” Malik said.
Increasing the silence of the central government to the death of farmers at the location of protests, Malik said more than 600 people had died in the largest agricultural movement in the country but not the condolences from the top leaders were very unfortunate.
“Even when a puppy died, the leader in Delhi revealed their condolences.
But they are silent at the death of farmers, “Malik said.
Making a surprising claim, he remembered that in his meeting with PM Narendra Modi, he told him that either Sikh was not JAT could be defeated by the farmer’s movement.
“I told Modi that if you think that farmers will draw protest without getting anything, nothing will happen.
I also told him that it didn’t do two things: Don’t use strength and not send them without giving anything, “Malik said.
“It’s a pity that no one talks about the death of farmers.
Even those who enter our category (OBC) have not started every proposal condemning the deaths at Lok Sabha, “Malik said.
Defending the rights of farmers for peaceful protests, he said farmers did not react and so far they were not even thrown pebbles.
Chopped there are words, he justified the raising of the national flag in Red Fort by farmers on January 26, he said, “Modi has the first right to raise a national flag followed by farmers.
Red Fort is part of collective and emotional memory.
Our folk songs talk about taking over from Red Fort.
Don’t our people have the right to raise our flags in the red fortress? Lifting the issue of cargil, he said it was a government failure that intruders crossed domestically and prices were paid by farmers’ children.
“Nowhere in history, war happens where our children take over the army sitting on a hill and they die like birds,” Malik said.
