Farmers to protest outside Raj Bhawans across India

ROHTAK: On June 26, when the protest against three agri laws would have completed seven months, the farmers are planning to protest outside Raj Bhawans across the country to pitch for their demand to repeal the laws and seeking legal backing for the minimum support price (MSP).
They will also submit memorandum addressed to the President to governors.
Sanyukth Kisan Morcha (SKM) senior leader and Swaraj Party leader Yogendra Yadav said this while addressing a press conference on Thursday.
Yadav also said the ‘kisan andolan’ would complete its seven months on Haryana-Delhi borders on June 26, which coincided with the declaration of Emergency (1975).
On June 26, the farmers would celebrate 46the declaration of Emergency day in the country.
Equating the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government with the colonial British regime, he accused the party of adopting diversionary tactics to defame the ongoing agitation.
Expressing hope in the dialogue process with the ruling regime, Yadav said the government claimed that it was just a call away to hold dialogue with farmers to end the impasse, but the call has never matured.
He said the government was under the false impression that it could destroy the farmers’ agitation by using force.
“It is their sheer arrogance and they have started cracking whip on the sympathisers of the agitation,” he added.
Yadav said before 2014, PM Narendra Modi had supported the legislation on MSP on all crops but he has been running away from his own commitment made to farmers in the past.
