Chandrapur: A farmer was killed in an alleged tiger attack in the forest Moharli (buffer) ranging from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Victims, Pitambar Tore (65) from Moharli Village, have entered the forest to collect bamboo for household use on Monday.
When he didn’t return home at night, his family member with Foresters went looking for him the next day.
Tore’s body was found in the compartment no.
874 on Tuesday.
The source claimed that tearing was attacked from behind while he brought a bamboo bundle on his head and died of excessive bleeding.
Officials ratified that predators have not eaten the body but they are not sure which animal attacks tearing.
“Usually, the tiger caught prey on his neck but tearing an injury behind.
We have recovered Pugmark Tiger from that place, but the cause of death has not been confirmed,” an official said.
Tadoba officials have paid RS 50,000 EX-Gratia assistance to Kin of Tore.
It was the 34th human murder in a predatory attack in this district.
Tigers have killed 29 people, while four have died in Leopard’s attack.
