Farmers who achieve a record of sugar cane results for technology use

Nagpur: In the famous region for suicide of farmers, a farmer from Saeraran created a record for the maximum production of sugar cane – 110 metric tons – per acre.
Rajesh Baghel is the first to do it from Vidarbha.
He also received a handsome profit RS1.75 lakh after the sale of the results.
He said it was difficult to believe when the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari suggested farmers to plant sugar cane at first.
“Of course, technology plays its role when I use advanced techniques such as drip irrigation, coupled with fertilizers and plant management,” he said.
Baghel was passed by Gadkari during the inauguration of the first application based radio for farmers at the Press Club for its efforts on Saturday.
The minister also praised him in his speech to call him inspiration for other farmers.
MP said the production record achieved by Baghel is equivalent to those who are in Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli, Sugar cane belt from Maharashtra Barat.
Baghel has 40 hectares of ancestral land and has farmed since the last two decades.
“I have experimented with various plants, but has never succeeded this much.
Since the last few years, I have planted sugar cane which turned out to be a commercial plant.
I also toured Western Maharashtra to study plant patterns and its requirements.
There will be no possibility that Gadkari did not convince farmers to do it, “he said.
When he started using sugar cane, no one in the village believed him.
“Even when I say I reached more than 100mt production, no one has trusted.
I will beg the farmers to avoid their traditional approach and adopt technology to advance,” Baghel said.
Praising Baghel’s efforts, Gadkari said he proved that sugar cane could be cultivated in Vidarbha and farmers could benefit if agriculture was carried out using technology.
“Our farmers can also be rich.
Unfortunately, they do not use the facilities available for them.
The role of Agro Vision is to fill this gap and educate farmers.” Minister said even three Manas group factories were closed in the last three years due to the lack of sugar cane production in The area and suffer losses.
“However, they have restarted since last year and this year, we reached a break-even point.
Next year, we are targeting the export of the RS300-RS400 Crore, because we produce pharmaceutical sugar and sulfate free used by soft drink makers,” he said.
