Thiruvananthapuram: Rajan P, 56-year-old livestock from Mambazhakkara in Neyattinkara, has not recovered from the events of the nightmare opened recently when a landslide caused by heavy rain hit his house burying mud and debris.
A total of 10 goats and 40 chickens were buried underground.
Three goats have been found until now.
When he understood that his remaining goats were in danger, he had chosen to protect them at his home.
This house has five rooms.
His family adjusted in one room and other rooms were occupied by 30 goats.
“Without them I can’t survive.
There is no other place, where I can accommodate them.
Some officials have visited that place and promising compensation to me.
But I have not received further information from them,” Rajan said.
Landslides occur in the morning at 5.30 in the morning.
Rajan, who was awake, suddenly heard a big voice of land and falling trees.
When he rushed to his backyard, he saw that the warehouse was completely buried underground.
Rajan had started agriculture five years ago and it was the only source of income and it had also been destroyed in landslides.
“From this income, I used to pay for my daughter’s education and meet other needs.
Now, I have lost my livelihood source,” he said.
