JAMMU: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has convened a meeting of senior party leaders in Jammu from Srinagar on Wednesday to understand their perspectives regarding the Centre’s invitation for talks about mainstream political parties of both Jammu and Kashmir, party sources said.
Abdullah on Sunday began the practice of consultations with senior party leaders at Kashmir prior to the scheduled meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Delhi on June 24.
The sources mentioned Abdullah encouraged nine senior leaders of this party by the Jammu area for an argument in Srinagar on Wednesday to understand their perspectives before choosing his party’s involvement in the all-party match.
Jammu provincial president Devender Singh Rana might direct the delegation that also contained Surjeet Singh Slathia, Ajay Sadotra, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Javed Rana, Khalid Najib Soharwardy, Rattan Lal Gupta, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah Bukhari and T S Wazir, the sources stated.
