Coimbatore: An anti-hunting observer suffered a small head injury after a truck loaded with around 4,000 bricks hit the vehicle department of forest where he sat in Kanuvai on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.
Forester R Arun Singh, 25, from Kanuvai in Thadagam, and his team members tried to pursue wild elephants into the forest near Kanuvai on Tuesday morning.
The team parked their vehicles on the Pappanacedapalayam-Kanuvai road.
A narrative truck with bricks hit the department’s vehicle parked from behind, injuring the anti-hunting observer Rangasamy who was sitting in the vehicle.
Even though the truck did not stop after the accident, the Forest Department staff chased vehicles.
The truck driver stopped the vehicle after a few meters and managed to escape.
Police Sub-Inspector Thadargam Arumuganainar won the truck.
The case was submitted against the owner of the Bricklin Unit TMT R Arun, the owner of the Tamilaranan V truck, and a truck driver under Section 279, 337, 379 of the Indian criminal code and part 21 (i) of mine and minerals (development and regulation)) acting.
The police formed a special team to arrest the three men.
