Ahmedabad: A man from Sanand Village killed his seven-year-old daughter by throwing it into the Narmada Canal near Hansalpur Village on July 8 because he was a “obstruction” at the third marriage.
Then, he raised the story of his kidnapping before the police.
When he continued to change his statement, the police asked him intensely and learned that he had killed his daughter.
The defendant, Dhamesh Devipujak, 35, a resident of Khoda Village in Sanand, first approached the Sanand police on July 9, said that he had dropped his daughter somewhere and when he was drunk, he had forgotten the place.
He pleaded before the police to find out his lost daughter and the police immediately started the girl’s search.
On July 10, he again appeared with a new story of kidnapping and told the police that he and his daughter went to the market near Hansalpur and when they returned some unknown people kidnap his daughter.
On July 11, he came with another story that he and his daughter was offered chocolate full of some sedatives and after eating chocolate, he went fainted and when he regained consciousness, he found himself near the Narmada channel.
When the police examined his claim, they found with CCTV footage and human intelligence that there was no such incident there.
On the same day, the police found his daughter’s body from Canal Narmada.
The police called him again and asked him about this case and about variations in his statement.
This time, he broke down before the police and said that he had killed his daughter by throwing it on the Narmada channel because no one was ready to marry their daughter with him because he had a father from a girl from his first marriage.
He said before the police he had on July 5 made his first attempt to kill his daughter by injecting insecticides into him.
When he survived, he took him to the Narmada channel in shopping clothing and then threw it into it.
He then went to a hotel in Chotila and the next day back to Sanand, approached the police and told the kidnapping story.
The police ordered it in a criminal murder and conspiracy case and started an investigation.
