LEONIA: A preliminary investigation into a reported kidnapping at Philadelphia led police to a house in northern New Jersey where federal agents shot and killed a suspect early Wednesday, officials said.
The shooting Leonia, a city near the George Washington Bridge linking New Jersey and New York, happened around 6 am.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed the incident but didn’t instantly give additional details about the shooting or even the kidnapping.
Even the kidnapping victim was spared and wasn’t harmed, according to the FBI.
It is not known if the man who was shot has been armed, or whenever they fired law police officers threatened them with a weapon.
“Throughout the course of this confrontation with issues, 1 subject was taken and is dead,” the FBI said in a statement.
It wasn’t immediately disclosed the amount of suspects were in the house.
The incident remains under evaluation.
The FBI said that the analysis involved representatives from the Newark, New Jersey, and Philadelphia area offices.
