Hyderabad: On the day when CM K Chandrasekhar Rao went out at BJP on the problem of the procurement of rice, the center explained that it had agreed to get 24.75 lakh metric tons (LMT) of parebel rice from Rabbi plants 2021 and the rest.

According to official sources at the Union of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the FCI currently has a stock of 46.28 LMT of Parebel rice and another 32.73 LMT is on the way.
“In the end of the season, the total parebel rice stock with the FCI will be around 79 LMT.
About 20 LMT rice parebel is consumed every year from the FCI Stock in the Countries of the Parboil Rice Deficit.
It will be around four years to liquidate the stock of rice parebel available with FCI , “said the source.
Officials said that additional delivery of 20 LMT parboil rice – In addition to rice 24.75 LMT which was subject to previous sanctions from PADI 2020-21 – was permitted to request the Telangana government.
Officials say Telangana only consumes raw rice but produces more parboiled rice, which ultimately must be sent to the status of lack of rice parboil.
The export volume has declined overtime due to increased output in countries that eat rice.
Official sources said that agreed during the meeting held in August that the procurement of Telangana’s estimation for Kharif was 40 LMT of rice, which was 22.47% more than the procurement of Kharif the previous year.
However, in a letter to PM Narendra Modi, KCR has requested the center to get 90 LMT of rice.
