Fear of disease, snake infestation hiding in a new city

Kolkata: Authorities in the new city have sounded a warning for dengue fever and a disease transmitted through water in areas that remain submerged even six days after the rain on Sunday, forcing some residents to shift in the absence of water, lifting illness and threats of disease.
New City Forums & News, Housing Community Umbrella Body in the city, has improved a meeting with the new city of MLA Tapas Chatterjee on Monday to discuss waterlogging problems.
On Saturday morning, New Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) workers sprayed Larvisides in the complex such as Shukhobrishti, Elita Garden Vista, DLF, new and other city heights in the action of 3 where most parts are still under water.
On Saturday, more pumps are deployed to drain water.
On Friday, the PHE department has issued an advisor for residents to boil filter water before drinking until the contaminated underground reservoir is stated safe for water storage.
“Dirty water from the canal has stagnated in this complex for almost a week, which is sufficient to mash it to breed.
Residents who live in these homes are in the danger of contracts with dengue fever and other water default diseases.
While we try to pump water, that It becomes necessary to spray Larviside to kill mosquitoes to prevent the outbreak of dengue fever, “said an NKDA official.
NKDA officials also said the team of doctors in urban health centers had been asked to provide prevention drugs to fight any plague.
On Friday, many residents of Shukhobrishti, the largest housing complex in the new city, along with others protested in front of the Hidco headquarters in New Town.
“We believe that Larcisides will be sprayed and water tested for contamination.
Once the low water, they will apply bleaching powder and spray carbolic acid to prevent snake infestations,” said Kanrar, Secretary of the Shukhobrishti Population Association.
“Some residents have shifted elsewhere to fear the disease and not the availability of drinking water.
But others have no choice like that,” said Prakash Duggar, a resident of the new city height.
The authorities have convinced residents that at least one elevator in each tower will be made functional.
On Thursday, residents in the area were told that the power connection would be turned off but the idea was dropped in the midst of protests from residents.
On Saturday, PHE officials collected water samples from various complexes and buildings in new cities to test in their laboratories.
