Kolkata: The death of the first year’s swine flu was reported last week at the state ID hospital, triggered concern about two more suspects in the same hospital who had symptoms but was tested negatively on the virus.
Death has made doctors worry about the possibility of a swine flu increase in the middle of the fear of the third covid wave.
The woman initially admitted in a nursing home in Phoolbagan where swine flu was confirmed.
He shifted to the hospital ID when his condition deteriorated.
“He was in Bipap when he was taken to us with very low oxygen saturation.
His condition was very bad so he died even before we could start treating him,” said a doctor at the hospital.
While the officials of the State Health Department were relieved in two other patients testing the negative, part of a private hospital doctor warned that H1N1Case had begun to increase.
“We have two patients with symptoms of swine flu and covid.
Their reports have come negative for both.
They are now stable,” said the principle of Hospital Id Anima Haldar.
Although cases of the lost swine flu are not uncommon throughout this year, what is a concern of health officials is that the increase in number can coincide with the third wave of Covid.
In the Hospital, the Non-Covid ICU is currently being used to treat the alleged H1N1 case.
The hospital government has decided to monitor trends for the next few days.
“In case we see the number of cases that are allegedly increasing, we must regulate the environment to isolate and treat them,” Haldar said.
The H1N1 virus and non-pig flu variant quickly turned into an epidemic in Kolkata, according to the Director of the King Dhar Cmri Pulmonology Hospital.
The hospital, Dhar said, has received 10 cases like that a week and this is only severe.
Symptoms, including respiratory disorders, fever, body pain and weakness, common to covid, but RT-PCR tests and scanning ruled out Covid in many cases.
Dhar added that because of expensive swine flu tests, treatments are symptoms in many cases.
“Our microbiologists believe that the majority of those who report with symptoms have swine flu,” he said.
After H1N1 attacked, there is a possibility of 30% -40% of other family members affected, the doctor said.
Transmission mode similar to Covid.
H1N1 transmission occurs in two ways – through droplets released by patients during cough and sneezing, and with contact with patient clothing.
