Coimbatore: The police on Wednesday restored the body that decomposed from a 40-year-old woman from her home on Jalan Karuparayan Kovil in Vadavalli and his 30-year-old girlfriend from CMC Colony in Ukkadam.
They suspect to be a case of suicide pact.
The deceased was identified as Nithya, Princess Manickam from Animalai and Senthilkumar from CMC Colony.
Nithya, a widow, established a relationship with Senthilkumar, police said.
The couple had rented a house on Jalan Karupparayan Kovil three years ago.
He is a coimbatore corporation sanitation worker and finally works on Monday.
On Wednesday, Nithya Mahendran’s younger brother of Animalai contacted relatives and asked him to check it in Nithya.
Relatively found a locked house and felt a foul smell from there.
He reminded neighbors, who told Vadavalli police.
The police sent the body to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for postmortem.
Meanwhile, the police Ukkadam found the body of Senthilkumar near his house in CMC Colony.
They enrolled the case below the part 174 CRPC, postmortem was carried out and surrendered the body to his family.
“Both of them are addicted to alcohol.
We suspect that they consume joint poisons.
Then, Senthilkumar locked the house from the outside and went to his house.
We are waiting for a postmortem report,” said a police officer toi.
