Festive Rush Chokes Lucknow Crossroads for hours

Lucknow: Dhanteras’s Festivity triggered a large congestion on all the main roads on Tuesday.
Heavy congestion was witnessed in Hazratganj, Gole Market, Tedhipuliya intersection, Munshipuliya, BHOOTHNATH and Alambagh markets as buyers who swarmed the shops for Dhanteras purchases.
“There is a complete chock-ablock at the intersection of Tedhipuliya and I’m stuck for one hour,” Swati Sharma said from Vikasnagar.
Riya Singh is trapped in congestion in Alambagh Crossing.
“There is no police attended to regulate traffic near the Alambagh Metro station,” he said.
Other commuters, Vikas Singh, said that in a hurry and lack of parking space in the Bhoothnath market caused congestion on Jalan Faizabad for several hours at night.
However, ADCP, traffic, Shrawan Kumar, said that traffic continued to move even though it was a heavy rush on the road.
The police ensure that there is no growl on the road, he added.
