PUDUCHERRY: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Education and Medical Research (JIPMER) has clarified that circular recently directed patients to produce BPL cards (ration cards) issued by their respective countries to take advantage of free treatment in institutions that aim to make home procedures sick ‘more patient friendly’.
“There are some speculations in the news media about notifications recently by the Administration of the Institute of Hospital.
The Institute hopes to clarify that the notification is actually intended to make the hospital procedure more patient friendly.
It tries to document poverty below the new patient line status on One time; that is, during the initial registration and records the details of the certificate in the hospital system.
This will allow patients who need prolonged care to utilize services that require certification and without having to return to their original places repeatedly to obtain income certificates every time , “said the release from Jipmer.
The Institute receives many patients from a distant area for sophisticated and expensive investigations, interventions and treatments.
“Some of these services are provided free of charge, according to Government Regulations, only for those below the poverty line.
At present, patients who need this service are often forced to return to their domicile place to obtain income certificates – because the certificate has a short validity.
Next, The income limit for these benefits varies throughout the country, which causes confusion whether certain income is considered to be eligible for certain care or not.
This causes a lot of discomfort for patients and their family members and sometimes also causes delays in care, “he said.
This institution further clarified that currently almost all outpatients (OPD) extended patients with free treatment including drug editions with routine pharmaceutical and laboratory tests and this will continue.
“This size is only to facilitate treatment to the poor so that they can smoothly access the most sophisticated treatment treatment without the need for additional documentation.
This size is no doubt that it will greatly help people,” he said.
