Mumbai: A 19-year-old man, Rajesh Raja, was attacked by leopards near the film City in Goregaon around 9pm on Thursday teenagers, who had to be given stitches in the head, had been treated at Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Center, Jogeshwari.
He went there to drop his friend when the attack took place.
The attack was fifth in a month that came when forest officials claimed that they had identified wild cats as women’s leopards, about two years, which they said were responsible for recent series of attacks at Aarey Colony in Aarey.
Head of the Head of the Head of the Sunil Limaye forest conservator has allowed to trap leopards and, if needed, to be planted.
After the permit was received, three cages were founded at Aarey Colony on Thursday night in the zone identified by researchers where he tended to roam.
Limaye said the research team and volunteers did a camera trap at Aarey focused on animals allegedly attacking people.
There are several leopards roaming the aarey forest.
In the last census was carried out using a camera trap almost three years ago, nine leopards had been identified in Aarey.
Limaye said it was difficult to show Sustipe Leopard.
To get an overview of Macanard Roaming around the location of the conflict, the camera trap was carried out by the Forest Department with a biologist at a nikit surve and others.
“On Monday, the team returned after installing a camera when they saw Leopard charged at least two people in Aarey at around 8:15 a.m.
Then from Aarey and matched one leopard.
Based on this finding, permission has been given to capture / accentuate Leopard, “said Limaye.
“Leopard can be stuck with cages and, in this case, because it is a young adult, it should not be difficult.
But if it needs to be honed, we have a team in Sanjay Gandhi National Park that can carry out tranquility,” he said.
Shardul Bajikar Naturalis said it was very important to trap the leopard and bring it to the rescue center.
“In 2004, there was a similar human-animal conflict which caused a murder of 14 people.
The exchange of which followed the 28 SNGP leopard was included in the rescue center.
It is better that one leopard was arrested than the entire ecosystem that was harmed,” he said.
