Mumbai: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Friday filed a complaint (Chargesheet) against the NCP leader Eknath Khadse, his wife Mandakini, Daughter-in-law Girish Chaudhari, Ravindra Mule Sub-Registrar and Benchmark Buildcon Pvt Ltd in the case of money laundering associated with MIDC land agreement.
Ed had previously questioned Khadse twice in this case and called his wife for a statement twice, but he did not appear because his health was bad.
Khadse also claimed that he was not healthy since last month and told Ed about his inability to display himself to be questioned further.
Lawyer Khadse Mohan Tekavde said, “Last month he was operated at the hospital and his health was not good.
We told Ed about it, along with his medical certificate.
We provide all the required documents and work with ED during investigations.” Money laundering case , Based on Cemara 2017 fir in the Taman Bund police station in Pune against Khadse and others, related to criminal violations by civil servants.
The police have closed this case by giving Clean Chit to Khadse and submit a Summary C report before the court.
Courts have not yet decided Summary C.
Khadse is a minister of income in the government led by BJP in Maharashtra when the alleged violation took place in 2016.
After controversy, Khadse was forced to resign.
Last October, Khadse left BJP and joined NCP.
Ed registered money laundering cases in 2019 against Khadse and others, and on July 7 this year, he arrested Chaudhari in this case.
He is currently in Judicial custody.
Last week, Ed had an attached asset worth Rs 5.73 Crore owned by Khadse, Mandakini, Chaudhari and others.
The attached property includes the Bank RS 86 Lakh balance and the non-moving properties worth Rs 4.9 Crore (purchase value).
Ed hasn’t attached a MIDC plot in the village of Bhosari where the controversy began because of the government and Kin Khadse bought it cheating.
The 3-hectare industrial plot was acquired by MIDC the country in 1968 from the Apostle Akbar Ukbar.
However, there was no compensation paid to the Apostle Urani, who died in 1981.
In 2010, the mutation entry for the land was made on behalf of MIDC in a record of income.
In 2016, the value of the Reckoner was ready from the land around Rs 23 Crore, but Khadse allegedly misused his official position as Minister of Revenue, helping his relatives to buy plots cheating to Rs 3.75 Crore.
