The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) composed a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray on Monday evening, (May 31) asking the resumption of job in social entertainment and media (M&E) business.
Movies and television shooting is now on hold because of the next wave of this Covid pandemic.
The letter is signed by FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, President BN Tiwari, Chief Advisor Sharad Shelar, General Secretary Ashok Dubey, also Treasurer Gangeshwar Shrivastav.
It reads:”In regards to this subject matter, we’d love to draw attention to the many requests delivered for you by the FWICE along with the co-ordination questionnaire concerning our request for resumption of job from the M&E Industry.
But, none of those letters are reacted by your great office without a decision was taken on our own orders.
“Sir, let’s apprise you there are lakhs of musicians, technicians and workers that are jobless because the previous one and half a year and the sole real source of income to get them is by the M&E Industry.
This sector has been supplying work to lakhs of palms and empowering their families to make their daily bread.
On the other hand, that the lockdown of this Business has affected the lives of those daily wage employees who have complete no additional source of revenue and are entirely determined by the job of the business.
“The statement of expansion of this lockdown for the following 15 days will truly be a drawback for all these deprived set of musicians, technicians and workers as well as the market of the business.
Not just the employees but the manufacturers are also influenced badly with enormous investments made into the conducting jobs that have been into a standstill because of this unlucky lockdown.
We function as mommy body of 32 unique crafts of musicians, technicians and workers of this sector have been getting many calls from our clients in their hard survival requirements and asking us to begin the job of the business.
“Sirwe will ask you to provide us with a particular permission to restart the job of their M&E industry allowing those lakhs of daily wage employees to make their living and live with their families through these most troublesome times.
We will make certain that the work will resume with rigorous adherence to the SOP’s, Guidelines issued from the authorities particularly for its M&E Industry.
“FWICE along with the Co-ordination Committee guarantee you that each of the Rules and rules of the Government will likely be accompanied by each and every team member along with all necessary precautions will be taken at every job place.
“We look forward for your understanding, collaboration and your consent for us to restart the job in the M&E sector consequently,” the letter concluded.
