LONDON: British Health Secretary Sajid Javid reaffirms his view that the country must try to live with Covid-19.
The new curb must be a “last resort”, he wrote in a daily letter, quoting “very large health, social and economic costs.” Inevitably there will be a big increase in the number of people in hospitals with viruses over the next month given the delay between infection and hospitalization, Javid said.
England reported a record total daily 1,62,572 new cases on Saturday, up from 160,276 days earlier, official data showed.
