Finally, Essel World came out of the Gorewada Zoo project

Nagpur: Finally, a joint venture (JVC) formed to implement the Gorewada International Zoo project in the city has parted ways with the corporation of the development of Maharashtra (FDCM) forests who decided to issue a notification of cessation to the essel world.
On October 9, 2020, TOI was the first to report about JVC which had rough weather after the law of the state & the Ministry of Justice gave a nod to stop the joint venture for violations of tender conditions.
“Recently, the state government issued a letter in this matter.
Based on the direction of the country, two weeks ago, we first issued a letter to the Essel in ‘intention to end’.
The JVC partner also answered asking us to issue a termination command.
We will Immediately issue formal orders, “said N Vasudevan, Managing Director of FDCM.
Joint ventures between FDCM & Essel World Leisure Private Limited, Mumbai, signed on September 6, 2018, to implement the Gorewada ZooWada RS 452-Crore Zoo project on the PPP base with 51:49.
Essel was issued by the state government of BJP-Shiv Sena to speed up the project.
From the RS 451 Crore project, the Viability Gap (VGF) fund by the government is the RS200 Crore while the remaining amounts must be invested by the Essel, which is not done.
The company pays Rs 3.81 Crore to a consulting company to change the design and layout of the project.
BL Gautam, Former FDCM Managing Director Essel World Gorewada Zoo Private Limited, who came out of a joint venture, said, “The bone of dispute is a land of 26 hectares of income side by side with the Gorewada Forest.
FDCM will submit a piece of land to us for commercial development.” Gautam added , “We have plans to develop park adventure, hotels and resorts to match international standards and bring global tourists.
For this, we have canceled the designer of the zoo which was recognized by Bernard Harrison.
The land was not handed over and we could not wait longer.
Nothing Efforts made to listen to us.
Even though we are waiting for formal termination orders, we have decided to get out of the joint venture even before the inauguration in January this year.
We expect a respectable settlement.
“In the future of the project after JVC chaos, Vasudevan said,” We have to go alone or find PA other here.
Essel must carry Rs 250 Crore but never comes.
Countries just spend RS 140 Crore on Indian safari.
Until the new partner was found, we will take the responsibility of the African Safari whose design has been approved by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
We are sure to complete the project.
“Disconnect * Essel failed to pay the performance guarantee of RS 9 Crore and also attracted EMD RS 2.25 Crore * After the state government cleaning, 2 weeks ago FDCM issued an order to Essel which intends to stop JV * in 51:49 JV, Essel Shares worth Rs 4.90 Lakh and FDCM RS 5.10 Lakh * Essel have spent more than Rs 3.80 CR on designing zoo projects * FDCM requires other couples or go alone
