Berlin: Rescue Team in Germany continues to look for lost workers Wednesday in an industrial park for chemical companies where an explosion killed at least two people and injured DPA 21 others, other DPAs.
Tuesday’s explosion at the waste management facility from the Chempark website in West Germany produced a fire that extinguished the fire extinguisher nearly four hours to extinguish.
It is not clear how many people are still missing.
The police said on Wednesday that the investigation into the cause of the explosion would begin on Thursday, DPA reported.
So far, it seems that the explosion was associated with a storage tank filled with solvents.
Industrial park is located in the city of Leverkusen, near Cologne.
After the explosion sent a large black cloud into the air, the residents were asked to stay indoors and some of the main highways were closed for hours.
City officials also warned people not to let children play outside, use the outer pool or eat fruit and vegetables from their backyard in the coming days.
Leverkusen is home to Bayer, one of the largest German chemical companies and one of the biggest employers in the region.
The city has around 1,63,000 residents, many of which work for Bayer.
Industrial Park, which is operated by CAILDA, is located close to the banks of the Rhine River.
