Ahmedabad: City boasts several famous architectural works in the world – from IIM-Ahmedabad and Atma House to Amdavad Ni Gufa and Patang Hotel.
But what makes cityscape unique? Exhibition titled ‘Ahmedabad Collective’ by the Ahmedabad Chapter of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), trying to find answers to this question.
Collections of works 21 city-based architects includes several elements such as 3D models, architectural plans, and real site images.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday at the Creda Building near Sindhu Bhavan Road.
It’s open to visitors on Monday, celebrated as World Architecture Day.
Vatsal Joshi, Chair of his chapter he Ahmedabad, said that they had tried to unite the works of people such as Vastu Shilpa, HCP, and related architects.
“The idea is for a glimpse of work done in the past few decades and the design philosophy behind it,” he said.
“Ahmedabad greatly contributed to the field of architecture, and such initiatives will walk away in creating a community,” said Bimal Patel, President Cept University.
“An architect can win awards, but for him, the best praise will be an award from fellow architects.” Surya Kakani, whose work is served at the exhibition, says what is distinguished by Ahmedabad is a taste for experiments without fear.
