‘Finish illegal colonies’ work in time’

New Delhi: Minister of Chief Justice of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday directed by relevant officials to complete projects in unauthorized colonies in the specified time and ensure that adequate funds will be given to maintain the quality of work, according to an official statement.
At a review of development projects such as road construction and waterways in unauthorized colonies, officials explain the status of their project work and provide presentations with specific details of their projects in each assembly constituency.
The meeting was attended by the Development Minister of Urban Satyendar Jain along with irrigation and flood control officials (I & FC) and Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (DSIIDC).
“All officers must complete their project in the specified time so that the population can get this need as soon as possible.
Adequate funds will be given to maintain the speed and quality of work, the Ministry of Finance will disburse the required amount,” Kejriwal said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Officer of the F & IC Department said 441 works had been completed while 153 were in their final stages.
Work development in 172 of 352 colonies has been completed by DSIIDC and 69 works ongoing.
It is said that the main minister encourages all officers to present their data so that everyone can know the reality of land and project work can be simplified.
The I & FC department has unauthorized colonies in 47 assembly constituencies under the scope where a total of 784 unauthorized colonies have been intended.
“Out of the road construction project and this road has received administrative approval and expenditure sanctions on 755 project work and 737 works have been taken on 535 unauthorized colonies.
A total of 441 projects have been completed and the rest is ongoing.” That said.
The department also put a complicated timeline for all of their sustainable projects.
“Fifty projects will be completed in 2021 September and 187 in December 2021 while 49 March 2022.
Of all ongoing projects from the Department of Irrigation and Flood Control, 153 works are 76 percent to 99 percent while 48 projects are 51 per cent of up to 75 percent finished, “said the statement.
Officials Department I & FC said that they had completed 459 projects while 278 were being built.
“A total of 18,340 roads amounted to 1845.73 kilometers were being built by the department, where 15,638 roads totaled 1542.43 kilometers have been built while 2,702 roads amounted to 303.19 kilometers being built,” said the statement.
“Work 30,606 waterways are taken by the department with a total of 3052.41 kilometers where 27,576 channels 2661.23 kilometers have been completed and 3,030 is being built with a total length of 391.18 kilometers,” he added.
Department of Irrigation Control and Floods were informed that the development of work in various colonies in Narela, Burari, Timarpur, Badli, Murra, Nangloi JAT, Uttam Nagar, Patel Nagar, Najafgarh, Malviya Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Badarpur, Gokulpur, Mustafabad, Seemapuri was underway almost complete.
All development work has been completed in the colony in the Town model, Chandni Chowk, Moti Nagar, Garden Rajouri, Mehrauli, Seemapuri, Rohtash Nagar and Ghonda, said the statement.
The irrigation and flood control department also told the minister’s chairman that the laying pipeline work was taking place in Narela, Burari, Rajouri Garden, Vikaspuri, Mehrauli, Sultanpur Majra, Ambedkar Nagar, Tuxlakabad, greater Kailash.
DSIIDC is involved in building roads and rainwater channels in unauthorized colonies too.
DSIIDC officials told the minister’s chairman that in March-2016, DSIIDC was authorized by the Delhi government to carry out development work in all 1,797 unauthorized colonies.
However, in 2017 and 2018 the Delhi government transferred the responsibility for carrying out development work in most assembly constituencies to the I & FC department.
DSIIDC is developing in just 11 assembly constituents – Chhatarpur, Deoli, Obwasan, Karawal Nagar, Dwarka, Palam, Janakpuri, Patparig, Krishna Nagar, Rohini and Delhi Cantonment.
Apart from this, some colonies in Kirari, Vikaspuri, Gokulpur and the constituency of the Gelke Bawana have been submitted to DSIIDC to carry out development work, the statement said.
“DSIIDC has been entrusted with the responsibility of doing development work at 352 unauthorized colonies.
From this, the construction of roads and rainwater rain has been completed in 172 colonies.
The work is taking place in 69 colonies and funds has been proposed to be proposed to work at 111 colonies,” The statement said.
