Helsinki: Finland will start vaccinating the feathers on the feather farm against Covid-19 after the authorities give temporary approval for experimental vaccines, said the country regulator on Friday.
Conditional use permissions “valid until the end of December, when the applicant must provide further data,” said the Senior Inspector of Liisa Kaartinen from the Finnish food authority, which oversees the activities of the veterinarian.
Such conditional permits can be given during a pandemic when there are no other vaccines available.
Minks grew up for their feathers and have been found at certain risks contracting the novel Coronavirus.
“We have prepared about half a million doses now, which should be enough to vaccinate all the animals twice,” said Jussi Peura, the research director at the Finnish Farmers Association, who developed a vaccine together with researchers from the University of Helsinki.
Because clinical trials have not been carried out, Jab cannot be distributed commercially and must be used in conjunction with a strict procedure at 1,000 Finnish fur agriculture to monitor and prevent the spread of the virus.
