New Delhi: Video that shows an anti-Muslim slogan raised during protests in Jantar Mantar here is widely circulated on social media, after Delhi’s police registered a case in connection with this issue on Monday, officials said.
Hundreds of people have attended protests held by Bharat Jodo Aandolan in Jantar Mantar on Sunday.
Shipra Srivastava, the media is responsible for Bharat Jodo Aandolan, saying the protest was held under the leadership of the advocate and former spokesman for BJP Ashwini Upadhyay.
However, he denied the relationship with those who raised anti-Muslim slogans.
“The protest was detained against colonial law and demanded to eliminate 222 English law.
We have seen the video, but do not know who they are.
The police must take strict action on the people who raised the slogan,” said Srivastava.
Upadhyay also refused involvement in the incident shouting anti-Muslim slogans.
“I have filed a complaint to Delhi police to check the video that became viral.
If the video is authentic, the tight action must be taken against the people involved in it,” he said.
“I don’t know who they are.
I’ve never seen them, never met them and no one called them there.
Until when I was there, they were not seen there.
If the video is fake, then propaganda is being circulated to cheating Bharart Jodo Andolan, “said Upadhyay.
This video shows a group of people who chanted the inflammatory slogan and threatened Muslims during the protest in Mantar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav said, “We have received the video and we are checking it.
The case has been registered under the relevant section of the law and investigation.”
