WASHINGTON: US Capitol Rioter Dubbed “Qanon Shaman” Disappointed former President Donald Trump did not forgive him, his defense lawyer said on Friday after the man pleaded guilty to take part in the January 6 riots.
Jacob Chansley, Phoenix, Arizona, photographed in bare-chest, wearing a horned head decoration and many tattoos.
He had been detained without a bond since his arrest shortly after riots, and on Friday entered a guilty request to block the official process.
While in detention, Chansley underwent a mental examination and was diagnosed by prison officials with temporary schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety.
Nearly 600 people have been arrested on the attack on the Capitol where Congress meets to certify Joe Biden’s victory on Trump.
Previously Trump had given a speech by intentionally claiming his defeat was the result of fraud.
While Chansley’s crime fees pleaded guilty to bring a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $ 250,000, prosecutors Kimberly Paschall showed the maximum sentence that the government might requested would be much shorter.
Chansley had been a supporter of the Qanon conspiracy theory which threw Trump as the character of the Savior and Democrats elite as a composting of pedophiles and cannibal demons.
Even though he didn’t get forgiveness from Trump, Chansley’s defense lawyer Albert Watkins said, “There will always be a weak point” for Trump in Chansley’s heart.
At the Friday application trial, Watkins asked Judge Royce Lamberth to allow Chansley to be released from prison waiting for hearing punishment, scheduled for November 17.
The judge said he would consider this request.
Watkins noted that the prosecutor demanded Chansley “non-planning or organizers” from riots.
Watkins then told reporters that Chansley had collaborated with the January 6 investigation and was informed to the group he saw stealing secret material from the Senate office.
