NEW BARRACKPORE: The fire which broke out in a building which housed a couple of godowns plus also a hosiery unit in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district raged for its next day, although the whereabouts of two to four lost employees of this unit remained unidentified, fire brigade sources said on Friday.
The flames, even however included, are burning pockets of their construction from New Barrackpore region, approximately 15 km from Kolkata, as inflammable substances such as sanitiser were saved inside among their godowns located alongside the hosiery unit.
Eight fire tenders are deployed and the colling procedure is onthe sources stated.
At one time period Thursday, 15 fire tenders were pressed into service to put the blaze out.
Two to four men, who were allegedly in the building once the fire broke out around 2 am Thursday, were missing.
Despite efforts by fire services staff to scour the fire-ravaged chambers for virtually any survivor, none has been discovered up to now, the sources stated.
“By and large, the fire was contained.
But before the pockets of passion are completely doused, we cannot tackle the search performance from the whole assumptions for the missing men,” a fire brigade officer said.
Family members of the lost are anxiously awaiting the charred construction at Bilkanda area for more than 30 hours.
