Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Monday Set 7 February as a date that will hear pills seeking the enforcement of special regulatory design for fire safety in buildings.
The regulation was issued in 2009 after a terror attack 26/11.
PIL submitted by Advocate Abha Singh in 2018 has come after a series of fires and deaths caused and he revives litigation of public interest on Mondays that seek an urgent hearing by quoting the number of recent incidents.
After several tragedies of the fire affecting Mumbai, Aditya Pratap’s advocate mentions pills seeking the enforcement of special rules for fire safety in buildings.
The pill said that regardless of objections and suggestions in this problem was processed by the deputy director of the city planning, but there was no final notice issued.
Meanwhile, during this course for more than a decade, some disasters have occurred, including the tragedy of the Kamala factory.
The problem is a very large public interest and has in-depth implications on the ‘right to life’, said Singh Pill.
