Noida: The Fire Department in the Audit Highriss in Noida and Greater Noida have found many buildings where the hydration system collapses due to hard water.
Audit has been carried out since April.
Some apartments also complained that their building fire safety system was not operating and in negligence.
Arun Singh, Head of the Fire Department (CFO), from Gautam Budh Nagar told Tii, “from our first round, most pipes and sprinklers in Noida and Greater Noida apartments choked because of the white layer of salt deposits in the pipe.
When we tried to test the system’s efficacy , most often, sprinklers on the top floor failed to work.
In places, pumps have been corroded due to lack of service.
Most apartments need jobs or others in their fire hydrant system.
We will continue the audit in the coming months.
“So far , firefighters have completed the audit of 19 apartments in Noida and Greater Noida and in July, it will include 32 apartments again.
Singh added that they began work in April but had to rest because of a pandemic.
“We have now restarted work and hope to complete a group of apartments every month,” he said.
Even when the fire department has begun the audit in a small batch, complaints continue to devote from residents of various apartments that claim their fire safety systems have been outdated.
Amarjeet Rathod, a resident of Gaur City, said, “Our fire system is outdated and needs to be improved.
The path of the approach is not wide enough to allow fire fighting brigades.
We have sent a written complaint with firefighters.
Officials who come to check the system, just change Stickers to approve the validity of fire safety steps.
However, on land, the system is far from functional.
In the case of a fire, the guards use other methods to extinguish the fire when sprinklers do not work.
“Abhishek Kumar, President of the Welfare Association of the Owner of the Flat Extension Noida (Nephowa) , said that they had urged firefighters to conduct fire audits because the fire safety system most of the apartments had collapsed.
“This city does not have fire brigades with so much access so they can reach the floor as high as 23.
So, we must be careful and prevent accidents,” he said.
Meanwhile, the residents of the Nida extension have compiled a list of apartments where the API audit is needed based on an urgent.
“Many apartments in the Noida extension do not have a fire safety system in place.
Most of the apartments here have at least 20 floors and safety are being compromised.
Frequent fire drill, sprinkler inspection, pump cleaning must be mandatory, said Manish Kumar, Vice President of Nefowa.
