Mumbai: Opposition leader Devendra Fadnivis accused several private hospitals refusing to recognize the victims of the Tardeo fire.
“Surprised & sad to find out the nearest hospital rejected acceptance for injured people, which resulted in more death.
If it is true, BMC & state administration must improve responsibility for this death and take action against those responsible,” He tweeted.
Residents of Sachinam Heights said at first, hospitals nearby had refused to accept patients but then began to take in patients.
29 Victims rushed to Kasturba, Bhatia, Nair, Wockhardt, Masina and HN Reliance Hospitals.
Mayor Kishori Pednekar, who visited the site, said BMC would take action if there was a hospital that refused to enter.
BMC officials said their health department coordinated with all local hospitals and ensured all patients were not only accepted but received timely care.
