VIUDHUNAGAR: The death toll in the explosion in the fireworks unit in the village of Manjalodapti near Sattur increased to five as a wounded person, who was undergoing treatment at the Rajaji Government Hospital in Madurai, died early on Thursday.
The deceased man has identified Muniyasamy.
The explosion was caused by a temporary friction of chemicals being mixed, occurred in Sri Soai fireworks on Wednesday morning.

A wounded woman, who was identified as Saraswathi, 40, was undergoing treatment at the Tirunelveli Medical Medical College Hospital.
