First Cyclone Yaas Harm Rs 20k crore: Mamata into PM Modi

KOLKATA/KALAIKUNDA/DIGHA: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Passed over a preliminary Yaas Harm Quote of Rs 20,000 crore on PM Narendra Modi on Friday after Studying the devastation left along Bengal’s coastal zone from the cyclone on Wednesday.

A dozen administrative cubes across the coast and rivers had been below water along with 18 lakh people were directly impacted by the cyclone, Majhi informed the CM, including 7000 hectares of agricultural land — a few with standing plants — and fisheries might have been ruined by water.
The CM’s next airborne survey will concentrate on Nandigram, Khejuri and Ramnagar on Saturday.
The CM concentrated on safety of girls and kids remaining in relief camps in North 24 Parganas and requested district magistrate Sumit Gupta to organize for sufficient relief and make sure pregnant women didn’t face any difficulty.
At South 24 Parganas, she advised district magistrate P Ulganathan to guarantee money wasn’t wasted on subway embankments which couldn’t protect villages from heavy rains and cyclones.
