Bengaluru: Former Indian Batting Stalwart VVS Laxman on Monday began his term as Director Cricket at the National Cricket Academy here.
Last month, the 47-year-old Laxman received BCCI’s offer to take the job, after his predecessor Rahul Dravid had released the position to become the head coach of the Indian senior team.
“The first day at the office in NCA! A new challenge that is fun in the store, looking forward to the future and works with the future of Indian cricket,” Laxman Tweeted, along with two images in the NCA.
Before accepting this position, Laxman served as Sunrisers franchise IPL Hyderabad’s Mentor.
As far as the training experience, Laxman has also worked as a six-year batting consultant at the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB), which has sounded for the ‘Vision 2020’ program that aims to knock and promote grassroots talents in Bengal.
In addition, Laxman has also become a leading figure in the comment box.
When Dravid entered the setting of the Indian team, Laxman has emerged as a frontrunner to occupy the top position in NCA.
