Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) opened the First Vande Mataram Public Health Center at Bhiwsenkhori in Dabha on Tuesday night.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated a health center, which is the first of 75 facilities such as those planned under the Mahotsav Amrit to celebrate 75 years of independence.
The health center has been dedicated in Colonel vs Babu’s memory.
“Every citizen must get a timely health service.
Through these centers, the poor and in need will get affordable health services.
NMC has made a good decision,” Gadkari said.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari told that NMC had organized a health care camp to provide quality health services to citizens.
The Civic body has identified the location for 74 health centers left in all 10 zones.
The centers come close to community spaces or where there are no major public health care services.
Deputy Commissioner of Kota Milind Meshram said NMC provides infrastructure while the health center will be carried out with NGO assistance.
“Primary medical health services will be provided at a fee of RS10 nominal fees.
Labor, including doctors, nurses, receptionists and drugs will be provided by NGOs,” he said.
Meshram said some civil works were waiting 74 centers but gradually all will begin, with the deadline in December 2021.
“Every center must have each cabin for doctors and pharmacists, and separate shower rooms beside the table and wait,” he said.
NMC will brandish the costs of electricity, water and sanitation in these centers.
If some centers have a backup room, the city commissioner Radhakrishnan B has proposed several oxygenated beds.
NMC has received around 150 oxygen concentrators from NGOs and different organizations.
NMC has called for an expression of interest from NGOs to run a health center on the lines of Covid facilities run during the second wave.
“32 Eois was accepted for the centers,” he said.
Meshram said health centers aimed at serving people from slums and below the poverty line.
Under Amrut Mahotsav, NMC will also inaugurate the crescent cell research center at Pachpaoli’s maternity house on Wednesday.
The center will be carried out in collaboration with the crescent cell research unit from the center of cellular and molecular biology, Hyderabad; Mahathme Sai Welfare Charitity Trust, and NMC.
