Jaipur: Choosing the first phase of the election of members of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti will be held in six Rajasthan regencies on Thursday, officials said.
Polls will take place from 7:30 a.m.
to 5:30 a.m.
at 3,599 poll booths in Bharatpur, Dausa, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur and Sirohi District.
Commissioner of the Election of the State P S Mehra said all preparations for the election were completed.
He said the number of adequate security personnel had been deployed to ensure free and fair polls and all covid related guidelines would be followed.
In the first phase, 1,721 candidates were in a commotion and a total of 26.55 Lakh voters would be able to use their franchise.
A total of 77,94,300 voters were registered in six districts, where 41.23 lakh were male and 36.71 lakh women.
The selection was held in three phases for a total of 200 members of Zila Parishad and 1,564 members of Panchayat Samiti.
The second and third polling phase will be held on 29 August and September 1 while the vote count will take place on September 4 at the District Head Office.
One member of Zila Parishad and 26 members of Panchayat Samiti have been chosen without removing.
The selection of Pramukh and Pradhan will be held on September 6 while the up-pramukh and up-Pradhan elections will be held on September 7.
