Jaipur: Chief of Minister Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said on Tuesday that it was for the first time in the country’s history that each of the ruling parties had won the Bypolls in a row.
He said about eight assembly seats who went to the election after the 2018 Assembly election, Congress won six and lost two seats traditionally held by NDA led by small margins.
“This is the first time in Rajasthan’s history that the ruling party has won elections,” he said in a tweet.
“This victory shows that people have full faith in the policies of good governance and well-being of our government.
Similarly, in the future too, we will be able to maintain public trust,” Gehlot said.
The Ruling Congress on Tuesday won Bypolls to the Vallabhnagar and Dhariawad assembly segment in Rajasthan, pushing BJP opposition to third and fourth place there.
Before Bypolls, the Dhariawad seat was represented by BJP and Vallabhnagar by Congress.
With this victory, Calculation of Congress at the 200 members of Rajasthan Members reached 108 against 71 MLA BJP.
