Gurugram: The Ministry of Health on Friday confirmed the case of the first swine flu this season (H1N1) case in the city.
The patient, a 63-year-old woman, was treated at a private hospital last week with shortness of breath, coughing and high fever.
He was dismissed on Friday and was under quarantine at home sector 51.
The Ministry of Health has increased supervision and all hospitals have been assigned.
The response team quickly conducted contacts in about 50 houses in the area where the patient lived and gave Tamiflu to three of his close contact.
Health officials have been asked to report cases of diseases such as influenza (ILI) / severe acute respiratory disease (Sari) to the Integrated Disease Supervision Program Unit (IDSP).
Swine flu is contagious respiratory disease caused by the influenza virus subtype, called H1N1.
RAM Prakash, District Immunization Officer, said the patient was the first case of type C from the H1N1 virus this season.
Type A and Type B have symptoms such as ordinary flu and generally require hospitalization, but type C can cause a decrease in blood pressure, pneumonia and difficulty breathing and requires hospitalization immediately.
“The woman’s sample was sent to the National Center for National Center (NCDC) in Delhi and it was back positive,” he said.
The environmental and death isolation committee for H1N1 cases has been arranged.
“Insulation and ventilator facilities in private hospitals have been identified.
A total of 62 bed isolation and 52 ventilators are available for swine flu patients,” Prakash added.
Gurugram has also been training all medical officers for prevention and control of these cases.
“We have directed hospitals not to charge more than Rs 4,500 for H1N1 tests,” said Dr.
Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer.
The doctor said the symptoms of flu must be treated at once and carefully.
Increased body temperature, unusual fatigue, headaches, sore throat, loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting are some H1N1 indicators.
The first case of swine flu in the city was reported in 2009, the year some parts of the country saw the plague.
