Jaipur: For the first time since the pandemic hit the state in March 2020, there were no new Covid cases reported in the state.
On Tuesday, all 17,241samples were collected in 33 districts tested negatively.
The last time the country reported no case in a day on March 24, 2020.
Even though the country has not reported no new infection, 38 people are still undergoing care for Covid in various parts of the country.
At present, Jaipur has 13 active cases, the highest in the state, followed by Ajmer and Bikaner with 7 active cases in each district.
The first Covid-19 case was detected in the state on March 2, 2020 when a 69-year-old Italian tourist had been tested positive.
Until now, the number of people who had tested the positive virus were at 9.54,392.
The count of the victim is 8,954.
Apart from the country that reported 65 Covid cases until October 19, the health department was alert.
Health Minister Raghu Sharma said he had directed officials to do a regular random sample in crowded places to prevent the third wave.
Now, the Ministry of Health focuses on Covid vaccination to prevent the third wave.
Sharma said, “Until now, the first dose of vaccines has been given to 82% of the targeted population while 40% have received the second dose.” He directed officials to identify people who lost vaccines by running a special campaign and made them vaccinated.
In the entire state, the number of Covid tests conducted at 70 different laboratories has increased to 1,46,40,255 with 17,241 samples tested on Tuesday.
A senior health department official said they were still carrying out enough tests as part of supervision.
The recovery rate in the state is more than 99%, which means that of every 100 cases, 99 has recovered.
