Lucknow: Maintaining the speed of vaccination in the upper teeth, Uttar Pradesh crosses a dose of 24 crore on Thursday.
Data from the Cowin portal shows that 24.27 crore doses have been provided so far, including more than 24.26 lakh doses on Thursday.
Health officials say more than four doses of crore have been given in 20 days this year.
This means that an average of 20 doses of lakh are given every day.
On a national scale, the closest competitor to the top is Maharashtra where 14.52 crore doses have been given, followed by West Bengal (11.66 Crore), Bihar (10.87 Crore) and Madhya Pradesh (10.83 Crore).
Among all districts, Lucknow’s tops with 68.17 lakh doses while Prasagraj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Varanasi, and Ghaziabad have also provided more than 50 doses of lakh.
Health officials said that 14.92 crore people in this country have taken the first dose of vaccines.
This includes more than 70 teenagers lakh besides the 18 plus population.
The total managed dose also includes 6.50 lakh doses of preventive measures given to health workers and front lines and elderly people with comorbid conditions.
The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 9.28 crores.
Considering the 14.74 crore adult population in mind, health officials said that 96% of eligible people had taken the first dose while 64.1% was vaccinated in full.
Pursuing achievements as a symbol of ‘solidarity and strength’ from the most populous country to pandemic, the head of the Yogi Adityanath Minister thanked health workers, frontline workers, people who are related to administration and every citizen who took vaccines voluntarily.
It should be noted that more than one dose of crore is given in the state in just four days.
Expressing satisfaction for the successful implementation of the rapid vaccination drive in the Minister of Chief also set a target to ensure 100% the first dose coverage of the adult population in the state at the end of January.
